EFT Counseling
Support for your most important relationship
You wouldn’t go to a hardware store for help with a computer issue hoping they would know how to care for it. And you shouldn’t take your most important relationship to a therapist who isn’t trained to deal with it.
I’m passionate about the marriage relationship and what it can be. For this reason I’ve continued to train in the gold standard of evidence-based therapy for couples – Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Common patterns and a new path forward
Couples often come in feeling stuck in painful cycles. EFT helps slow those moments down so both partners can better understand what is happening underneath the conflict and begin moving toward connection again.
Common Pattern
When one partner reaches and the other pulls back
Do you find yourself trying not to say anything in hopes your partner will notice and address it, only to find it creates more distance so you speak up to address and protect the relationship only to be told you’re too emotional and need to calm down?
Common Pattern
When every effort seems to fail
…or maybe you keep trying and get the sense your efforts are not enough and every move you make seems to lead to failure. And then even when you try to get space to keep things from blowing up, and find the courage to finally speak up you are told you’re defensive or have an anger problem?
What EFT Looks Like
A collaborative process toward secure connection
Taking a collaborative approach we will slow things down and help the couple:
